Fiscal Sponsorship Allows for Tax-Deductible Contributions While Championing Human-Made Indie Cinema

LOS ANGELES, August 14, 2026 — Khepri Films announced today that its upcoming second feature film, the cosmic horror THE KING IN YELLOW, has been officially selected for fiscal sponsorship by Film Independent. The prestigious arts non-profit champions creative independence in visual storytelling and supports filmmakers who embody diversity, innovation, and uniqueness of vision.

Through this fiscal sponsorship, all financial contributions made to THE KING IN YELLOW via Film Independent’s portal are now 100% tax-deductible. Furthermore, a portion of the funds raised will go directly to support Film Independent’s ongoing mission to cultivate the careers of independent artists and build a wider audience for indie film.

A modern reimagining of Robert W. Chambers' classic 1895 mythos, THE KING IN YELLOW is a sharp critique of the current Hollywood landscape. The film follows a jaded screenwriter trapped at an isolated desert retreat who must outsmart a billionaire director—who is actually an ancient cosmic entity—harvesting human art and replacing A-list actors with flawless, synthetic doppelgängers.

To kick off the fiscally sponsored fundraising campaign, Havenner announced he will embark on a grueling, 85-mile walkathon across the city of Los Angeles. Stepping off on September 1, Havenner will walk to 31 unique independent movie theaters over five days to raise awareness for the legacy of indie film and secure the final $70,000 production budget for the movie.
